Remember when the Zombie Angelina Jolie was a 15 minute celebrity a few years ago, but then ended up getting thrown in jail in her native Iran for being too much of an influencer or something?

Well apparently she was released back in October 2020 after 14 months in jail, but the Western world only seems to have found out about in the past couple of days or so. Fatemeh Khishvand convinced the world that she had received cosmetic surgery to pull off her extreme look and this led to her conviction for corruption and blasphemy, but she’s now decided to reveal that she actively regrets this decision and it was actually just make up and iPhone trickery.
Appearing as her true self, this is what Khsivand had to say:
Cyberspace was an easy way to become famous. It was much easier than becoming an actor.
My mother was telling me to stop, but I didn’t listen.
Sometimes the words of a stranger or a friend can be more important than those of a parent.
I’m sure I will not even put Instagram on my phone anymore, let alone have a page.
I guess that really is the definition of learning your lesson, although you have to have some sympathy for Khisvand because there’s no way that she should be getting thrown in jail for messing around with her iPhone and posting some pictures. Maybe she should have known that that sort of behaviour could have serious repercussions in Iran already though?
Anyway, looks like she’s out of the social media game and thankfully she never had surgery to permanently look like a freak. Hopefully she does something worthwhile with her life now.
