We’ve already talked about YouTuber Max Vs Food this year after he managed to eat 102 Jaffa Cakes in just under three minutes, but now he’s back with an even more impressive feat from The British Eating League at The George Pub & Grill in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham.

Max was competing on the 4th February in a steak eating competition, where he was faced with a 50oz, 2485 calorie medium rare rump steak that he somehow managed to devour in just under five minutes. For an idea of how impressive that is, it’s the equivalent of 12 quarter pounders and the next person to finish it took over ten minutes, with many of the other competitive eaters failing to even mange to eat it all.
Here’s the video (sorry I couldn’t find an embed feature anywhere) and Max’s thoughts on the challenge. Be warned though, it’s a bit feral:
Looking back at the video I looked a bit crazy and primitive, I just went into beast mode and tried to eat as much as I could.
At the start I had a knife and fork in my hand but then I just intuitively picked it up with my hands and started eating.
I wasn’t thinking about it too much, I was just thinking of attacking it.
I was pretty worried ahead of it, especially as it was my first steak challenge and I didn’t know how to handle it.
I normally have better manners when I’m having my dinner at home.
Geez that’s a bit of a grim video isn’t it, but you have to admire Max’s relentless determination to bite off massive chunks of the steak and get it down his gullet. Certainly doesn’t look like it’s very comfortable for him by the end of it, but I suppose like anything competitive eating is all about pushing your body to the limit and seeing how you come through it. Congratulations to the guy and can’t wait to see what he does next.
For more of the same, check out this guy eating a £60 mixed grill in just 37 minutes. Some people out there know what they’re doing when it comes to competitive eating hey?
