YouTubers and influencers are always looking for the next viral hit in order to take their brand to the next level, but you would have thought by now that they would have probably learned not to target homeless people.

Luke Erwin is a social media star over in Australia and for his next ‘edgy’ video he decided to start the ‘Make It Rain’ series, where he finds a random homeless person in the street and throws a bunch of money over them. Obviously, in the two videos that he’s shared so far the homeless person is desperate for the money and does everything they can to gather it all up, whilst Luke just laughs at them and says stuff like ‘enjoy your cheeseburgers’ and ‘don’t spend it all on a binge’.
Take a look at them below and see what you think:
@lukeerwin420Make it rain with luke
Yeah I guess his heart might be in the right place but the fact is that he just comes across like a bit of a dickhead. He’s also really bad at ‘making it rain’ and looks like a major loser when he’s doing it and not like some badass rapper in a hip hop video which is exactly what he thinks he looks like here.
Most people on social media are calling him out for being a dickhead and he replied with the following statement which is fairly typical of influencers these days:
Really I gave two people $100 each, people are struggling for rent and I’m out here bloody giving them a bit of cash to buy a cheeseburger meal or two.
I’m just supporting people buying cheeseburgers.
I don’t really think he’s listening to what people are saying there or really understanding the plight of the homeless. Hopefully he’ll receive such a backlash he’ll do a video talking/learning about it but I doubt it. Probably just get more and more views tbh. Hope those homeless guys enjoy the money at least.
