 The Rock vs. John Cena

So this it; the big one! Cena’s a klutz in the ring, but in these big match scenarios he always delivers and Rock is still a hell of an athlete, so this should be a good match logistically speaking. It’s the crowd though, that could propel this match to legendary status as they’re in Rock’s hometown of Miami so the reactions are going to be insane.( I half expect Cena to make his way to the ring via Pope Mobile.) Apparently, they’ve got Rock locked for next year’s event too, so with a rematch likely this could go either way.

For a long time, fans have been clamouring for Cena to turn heel (Wrestling carny for bad guy) and, this is the perfect time to do so. It makes sense in storyline (The mixed fan reactions) and both Punk and Orton are arguably in position to take his place as face of the company. Of course, this could prove disastrous for WWE’s revenue, so it’s very unlikely. Still, my longshot is that Cena wins by brutalising The Rock in his hometown with a steel chair and turning his back on the fans for good, thus setting up a challenger for Punk and the inevitable rematch next year.

Phew. I’ve established myself as a total wrestling geek, but hopefully this either sparked or contributed to your interest in the show. I’d be interested to see how others see the show going, so post your thoughts on the matter. The card’s subject to change and more matches will be announced between then and now but it’s already shaping up to be a classic, so I say bring on April 1st!
