CM Punk © vs. Chris Jericho (WWE title match)

This time last year, CM Punk was frustrated, burnt out and preparing to take a hiatus from the company. Then, last summer he cut a promo which shook the foundations of the wrestling world, a throwaway main event to a throwaway pay per view quickly became a must-see show and Punk blossomed from star to superstar. Currently world champion, Punk’s going head to head with the returning Jericho. Although Jericho’s return has been unspectacular, the verbal confrontations have been excellent. The story is that Jericho took exception to Punk’s new attitude and saw him as nothing but a carbon copy of himself. As of this writing Jericho has been outsmarting Punk at every turn and getting the better of him in the ring. The match will likely tell the story that both men know each other’s game so well that both will be looking for ways to catch the other off guard. Expect a **** technical exhibition with Punk retaining against the soon to be departing Jericho.
