We’ve featured our fair share of embarrassing own goals here on Sick Chirpse over the years, but I’m not sure if anything can ever top this.
I once saw a clip of a similar own goal from ages and ages ago in like the 80s or something, but it was raining and the ball was probably a lot slippier and the pitch and standards not as good, so it’s kind of unbelievable that another goal like this has actually happened, even if it is in the Argentinian third division. That’s called Prim B Metro in case you don’t know.
It’s a goalkeeping error and the goalkeeper goes by the name of Rodrigo Cavetti, a 30 year old who plays for Comunicaciones. In the clip, he stops the ball going out for a goal kick, picks it up and then tries to lob it out to his left back.
Unfortunately for him though, he keeps a hold of it a bit too long and it ends up in the back of the net. To make matters worse Comunicaciones went on to lose the match 5-0. Oh man.
