What do you do when you don’t want to get pregnant/get someone pregnant? Well there are two options – contraception or anal. Most of the time these are failsafe methods to prevent any unwanted babies but for this poor woman, the second option didn’t do the trick.

In the first case of its kind, a woman has become pregnant via anal sex. While it has been stated as a medical impossibility, a US doctor has described how a rare condition caused it to occur to one of his patients.

Dr Brian Steixner MD, Director of the Institute of Men’s Health at Jersey Urology Group in Atlantic City, said that the woman had a condition termed cloaca. What happened is, while this woman was a foetus herself, her bladder, vagina and butt did not develop as they normally do and instead all of the functions of these three things are performed from the same orifice. Sounds pretty messy if you ask me.
Normally if this happens then it is corrected by surgery, but apparently this woman’s surgery was botched, which resulted in her uterus being connected to her rectum. What a bummer, literally. Steixner said:
We knew about her condition, and we had followed her for a decade. After doing a whole bunch of X-rays, we determined that she got pregnant from having anal sex.
The obgyns couldn’t figure out a way to effectively deliver the baby through the rectum safely. So she had a C-section.
Woh, imagine that – having a baby out the butt. Now THAT would hurt. Doesn’t even bear thinking about.
