The latest trend for those who seem to be unlucky in love but who really want to enjoy a wedding is to get married to yourself, but it turns out that this isn’t as simple as it might seem.

I’m not entirely sure of the ethics of self marriage, but it seems like Sophie Tanner was a bit confused about it all as she admitted that she ended up cheating on herself when she embarked on a five month affair with Ruari Barrett, a polyamorist who temporarily turned to monogamy during his relationship with Tanner. However, it didn’t work out and the result was that Barrett himself also decided to end up marrying himself. Sounds like a tricky situation.

Appearing on This Morning a couple of days ago, Tanner revealed all about her affair:

Well, self marriage sounds like a real sham doesn’t it? Why do people even need to have such a ceremony in their lives? Really doesn’t make that much sense to me and these guys do not seem like they’re ‘sorted’ in their lives at all – despite Ruari’s insistence.
