There’s a strong movement out there for always believing women when they speak up about rape claims, but sadly as long as women like Eleanor Williams exist there are always going to be some incel dickheads in the background (or foreground) saying that said women made it all up and we shouldn’t trust a word that they were saying.

For some reason, 22 year old Eleanor decided to smash herself around the head with a hammer and then post the photos on Facebook, claiming that she was raped and trafficked by an Asian grooming gang in her hometown of Barrow-In-Furness. These photographs led to a worldwide movement entitled ‘Justice For Ellie’ and ignited a race war in her hometown, with 151 crimes committed by people linked to the case, including 83 hate crimes.
Three of the men accused of these crimes by Eleanor attempted suicide and were forced to spend time in police custody alongside convicted sex offenders, with one man sharing a cell with one for 73 days. All of them have spoken about how they were also persecuted by the general public because of the slanderous claims made against them.
Honorary Recorder of Preston Judge Robert Altham said the following as Williams was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison:
Williams had experienced difficulties since childhood and had a history of self-harm.
However, her allegations were of the utmost severity and it’s troubling that there has been no significant sign of remorse and no explanation why the defendant would commit these offences.
Her claims were complete fiction and until the defendant chooses to say why she has told these lies we will not know.
She’s gone to extraordinary lengths to create false accusations including causing herself significant injury.
The claims created a state of heightened tension in Barrow for about four months with police describing the turbulence as being like nothing seen in the town for decades.
Police were under pressure from those who believed they were complicit in a cover-up on one hand and those who felt unsafe at the hands of vigilantes on the other.
What an absolute mess hey and like I said earlier, a case that is sure to put the women’s rights movement back years. Have got absolutely no clue whatsoever why Williams would even do something like that as there’s literally no way that it’s going to have a positive reception either. Even if she did have mental health problems or whatever, that’s clearly not the way to deal with them and multiple people’s lives could now be permanently destroyed because of her behaviour. Some really strange people out there.
