A woman from Sacramento in the US fell off the fourth highest bridge in the US this week while trying to take the perfect selfie.

Amazingly, the unnamed woman survived – but she was lucky. While attempting to take the photo, she fell 60 feet off of the Foresthill Bridge, California to the trail below.

The woman had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital. Her friend, Paul Goncharuk, said:

She was knocked unconscious, suffered a deep gash to her arm and fractured bones that will require surgery.

He also confirmed the information that, “They were taking a picture on the bridge, and then the big bolts that are holding the beams together, she stepped on them kind of weirdly and lost balance and fell backwards.”

It’s a cool place to take pictures, but obviously not worth the risk.

This woman was lucky, but a lot of the time these stories don’t end so well. The local police department has now issued a warning to people trying to take pictures:

You can lose your life and none of that is worth a selfie.

He took the words right out of my mouth. Seriously guys, no picture is worth a life. Just don’t risk it.
