With the world (again) seemingly more divided than ever, I think that perhaps one thing that everyone can agree on is that people shouldn’t be throwing innocent dogs off the top of parking garages and definitely shouldn’t then be trying to justify it by saying that they were doing the dog a favour.

This however is the bizarre defence that one 26 year old woman form Perth, Australia came up with when she was caught on CCTV camera throwing her dog Princess off the top of the roof at Westfield Whitford City shopping centre. Maltese shih-tzu Princess was later put down due to her horrific injuries, with the passerby that discovered her assuming that she had been hit by a car because the poor dog was so messed up after her plunge from the roof of the garage.
The footage comes from last April and the woman subsequently admitted to the crimes on Facebook (where else?) and is now spending a 12 month stay in jail. She’s also banned from owning pets for ten years which seems remarkably lenient considering she had no qualms about throwing one off the top of a building?!
Anyway, in her weird Facebook confession she also said that she was doing Princess a favour because all she did was hurt her and abuse her. Not sure if that’s necessarily true either because she could have just given Princess up for adoption instead of callously murdering her?! Very strange take on the situation.
The woman – who I’m not really sure why she hasn’t been named considering the extent of her crimes – later claimed her account was hacked as well and continually attempted to shift blame for Princess’s injuries, which kinda indicates she has some kind of mental problems – at least to me. Hopefully she gets some help with that whilst she’s in the clink because it’s seems like she’s going to have a highly problematic life if she doesn’t start making some changes.
Let’s not be too sympathetic to her here though because obviously she just murdered her dog in cold blood. RIP Princess and let’s hope this story discourages any other psychos out there from doing anything similar.
