Deputies say that Laurel Eich – who is NOT a dentist – broke into a dental office where she claimed she had formerly worked.
Laurel allegedly stole $22,861 in cash and checks during the break-in (who knew dentist offices kept that much $$$ on hand?). Meanwhile, the tooth extraction occurred on a separate date. She also admitted to using anesthetic disposed of by the office, police said.
Have to say – I’m kinda impressed? I mean obviously breaking into a dentist’s office, whether you claim you used to work there or not, and stealing a load of money isn’t something anyone should be doing. But the fact she actually took the time to sit there and extract 13 teeth from a clueless patient? That’s not an easy thing to do. I mean presumably the patient wanted the teeth pulled and that’s what they were there for. Maybe it’s just the break-in and stealing part she should be punished for. Using discarded medical supplies to operate on a patient and pull their teeth out of their face? Commendable, some might say.
In the end, Laurel was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary and one count each of grand larceny, conspiracy to commit burglary and perform surgery on another without a medical license. With any luck she took the patient’s teeth home with her and has struck it rich with the Tooth Fairy, so maybe she’ll be able to post bail. No idea where the actual dentist was while the victim was sedated and having their teeth pulled out by a madwoman who broke into the office, but I’m guessing there’s a lawsuit coming their way too. Watch out Florida Man, Nevada Woman is coming for your crown.
