Getto Boys legend Willie D is the latest rapper to have a go at Kanye West for his ‘White Lives Matter‘ stunt, and boy did he go in DEEP with his choice of insult.
Willie hopped onto social media and inferred that Donda West killed herself so she could get away from her ‘coconut’ son (a term meant to suggest a black person is white on the inside):
People immediately accused the rap legend of taking things too far:
Willie later recorded a video message to everyone who was offended by what he’d said… and let’s just say he’s not sorry at all:
“I woke up this morning to a block party. Had to get rid of all these Kanye West stans. All in the DMs, all in the comments section of my Instagram, because I put up a post saying that I don’t believe Kanye West mama died of a botched surgery. I think she killed herself because she realized she had created a self-loathing coconut. Now, they got mad at me and was trying to bully me because I said what I said, but when Kanye West wore the ‘White Lives Matter’ shirt they were praising him as a free thinker, someone who can’t be controlled. The irony, do you see it? So, having considered you guys’ beef, I got a change of heart. I’ma go ahead and be the bigger man and apologize for putting up that post and saying what I said. What I should have said is, f*ck all y’all. No more talk.”
Despite what Willie may have you believe, Kanye West’s mum died in 2007 aged 58 due to complications from liposuction surgery. Her death absolutely devastated Kanye, who at one point held the surgeon accountable for her passing.
So it doesn’t look like Willie D is up for a nuanced discussion on the whole White Lives Matter thing, not that it necessarily warrants any. He just wanted to hurt Kanye’s feelings the way his own feelings have been hurt by what Kanye put out there. Still, going after the guy’s dead mum? Claiming she killed herself to get away from Kanye? There’s no way Kanye is going to let that slide, surely?
