Everyone is talking about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars and I reckon everyone will be for a few more months at least, but after winning an Oscar and partying all night, Will Smith has finally decided to apologise to Chris Rock for his actions.

Here’s what Smith had to say in an Instagram post, also apologising to the Academy, the Williams sisters and everyone involved with ‘King Richard’. Check it out:
I suppose as apologies go that isn’t actually that bad, but I think the main problem with is that it’s come a solid 24 hours after the event when it probably should have happened right away. Probably not that great that Smith faced no consequences at the awards after he slapped Rock and then was filmed dancing around and rapping to his own song at an after party as he was still allowed to win the Best Actor Oscar for ‘King Richard’. Clearly the dude had better things to do, right?
While people are arguing on the internet about what team they’re on Will was “Gettin’ Jiggy With It” without a care in the world and that should tell you everything you need to know about celebrities pic.twitter.com/pr7sDutuCW

What a wild 24 hours for the guy – I guess we’ll see how this continues but it seems like aside from everyone talking about it on Twitter and on their crappy little blogs (I’m being self aware here) that the beef between Rock and Smith is probably over. We’ll be talking about it forever though I’m sure, and I dunno if Will Smith will ever be able to live it down.
What a way to tarnish a largely impeccable legacy – will he be able to Big Willy Style it out?
For more of the same, check out what Ricky Gervais had to say about the incident. Couldn’t help himself could he?
