For most people, tattoos are personal and represent something close to theirheart. So I guess it makes sense that this Wetherspoons fanatic decided to get a massive 1.5ft tattoo of the pub chain’s name across her belly…

Lovely . . .

Tasha Bentley, 23, got the giant Wetherspoons tattoo in five-inch tall death metal font as a tribute to her favourite pub, and forked out £500 for the privilege.

Tasha, who has 55 tattoos in total, said she adores Wetherspoon and metal bands, so she decided to combine the two for her latest inking. It’s a no-brainer!

“The tattoo combines two of my favourite things – I love Wetherspoon and I love metal bands. I reckon I’m one of Wetherspoon’s biggest fans now I’ve got the name on me. It [getting the piece finished] was on and off for so long last year, it was overwhelming.”

Special

A year? Doesn’t seem like it should take that long really. Tasha continues:

“When I saw it all done I nearly cried, it was like ‘I’ve finally got it done’, it was like I’d received good news, it was a weird feeling. It’s a Wetherspoon tattoo, you don’t expect that kind of feeling. I was just so happy. Seeing it on Facebook I knew straight away ‘that is me’. Now seeing it on my body – it’s an iconic piece.”

She was pleased with the finished product (Kennedy News and Media)

Iconic indeed. So what is it exactly about Wetherspoons that Tasha loves so much?

“I just love it. It’s affordable, there are lots of options, people at my local are friendly and I feel safe there, especially on my own”

Fair enough. Not sure about the ‘feel safe’ part given the Wetherspoons blogs we’ve shared over the years, but for Tasha, Spoons is basically heaven on Earth. As for the tattoo, if it makes her happy, then that’s all that matters really. Go Tasha Go! Go Tasha Go!
