An Indonesian teenager suffering from a rare condition known as ‘Werewolf Syndrome’ has rejected medical treatment and says people in his village revere him as a Hindu God.

Muhammad Raihan, 13, is covered in hair across all parts of his body, including his face and back.
He insists that his appearance is simply “the will of Allah” and nothing more, but even still, everyone thinks he’s the reincarnated Hindu monkey god Hanuman.
Muhammad, who lives with his mum and four siblings in Mamburung village in North Kalimantan, says:
I am not bothered with such attention – some people laugh at me, others just come to me for a blessing.
Sometimes people would flock to my house from far-off villages to just have a glimpse of me. They think I am a god or have special powers, but this attention is okay because I know I look different.

I guess it’s not so bad being a werewolf boy over on that side of the world? In the West you can bet Muhammad would have the piss ripped out of him non-stop but over in Indonesia, people think he’s a god. In fact, even when he tells them he’s not a god they’re all like, “yeah right, just admit it. We know you’re Hanuman the Hindu monkey god. Stop winding us up.” Kid’s got god-status whether he likes it or not.
Oppositely, this Indian man who was born with a 14-inch tail is positively thrilled that people think he’s Hanuman.
