2) Pale Tussock Caterpillar
The caterpillar of the Pale Tussock (Calliteara pudibunda) is a weird-looking git. He hails from Denmark and has a voracious appetite. Every so often, when conditions are right, the population will explode and destroy huge swathes of farmland. In 1988, a battalion of Pale Tussocks leveled 20 hectares of beech forest in Denmark.
