Another day, another video of some people having a fight after one of them refused to adhere to a company’s regulations about face coverings on a flight – only this time there’s a bit of a plot twist in that the guy who refused to wear a mask was already wearing a face shield.

You would think that this would be enough, but to be fair to Allegiant Airlines, it does clearly say the following on their website under their COVID guidelines:
Face shields may be worn in addition to a face covering, but not as an alternative.
Face coverings must be made of a solid material, fully cover the mouth and nose, fit snugly against the face, and be secured under the chin.
Prohibited coverings include those with exhalation valves, holes (such as lace or mesh), neck gaiters, and bandanas.
So it looks as though the flight attendants on Allegiant Air Flight 607 traveling from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport to Provo were well within their rights to ask the man to put a face mask on under his shield. Sadly though, he didn’t take kindly to this information and was asked to leave the plane when he refused to put a mask on, which was when someone started heckling him about it and ended up in a fight with him.
Thankfully, a woman named Rylie Lansford was on hand to capture the fight and then give us the full rundown of what happened. What a babe:

At first, I thought it was banter between friends cause it was kind of weird, but then you quickly learned that the words that they were saying to each other were not friendly.
Then I just hear and see one swing of an arm, and I just bolt to the front of the plane with the flight attendants.
It was absolutely insane to me because it’s all about a mask. It didn’t need to get that way.
Totally agree with that. Seems really weird to me as well that someone would wear a face shield yet refuse to wear a face mask as they seem way more clunky and make you look like way more of a dickhead, but I suppose they do let you breathe a bit more easily.
With that in mind he should have looked at the website before he travelled and then tried to get a medical exemption from a doctor for not wearing one. Not exactly hard and would have presented all this idiocy. Apparently now he’s been charged with disorderly conduct and missed his flight. Was it worth it?
