King Charles seems to be doing an OK job in his new role so far – aside from getting really annoyed with pens of course – and this video that’s currently going viral on TikTok will probably go some way to endearing him to those members of the public that aren’t quite convinced by him yet.

The clip comes courtesy from a visit that Charles paid to Birmingham just before the Commonwealth Games back in July. Daniel Walker was walking past where Charles was greeting some members of the public and decided to shout at him and ask him if he wanted to go for a pint and to everyone’s surprise, Charles replied and said he would love to, but Daniel would have to recommend somewhere!

The moment has since gone viral after Charles’ ascension to the throne and Daniel had the following to say about it:

It’s something I could talk about for the rest of my life.

I think he’s going to be a good leader, as growing up, a lot of people I know benefited from the Prince’s Trust and after this stunt, it’s made me recognise all the hard work he’s done.

I had only finished work and was walking to meet my mates for a drink, where I was minding my own business – until I suddenly saw him.

I thought, if I’m going for a pint, perhaps I’ll ask if he wants one as well.

I think he thought he was getting heckled at first, as I was shouting his name and I’m quite tall, so the initial response was slightly rude.

But after I repeated myself, I couldn’t believe it as I didn’t think he would respond to me.

I got to meet him after and shake his hand. He was about to walk off, but then saw me and put his hand out before asking what I did as a job.

He commented I was a ‘proper Brummie lad’ and wished me all the best.

It’s made me like him even more because I saw his human side.

People don’t see all the good things he’s done, as they’re always looking for the negative – but I’ve got a lot of respect for him.

I hope he’s still up for that pint, as it’d be unbelievable.

It can be my treat as well, as a good luck on his new job.

Wow if there’s ever an advert for how a famous person can literally make someone’s life by stopping to talk to them for about ten seconds then I think that this is it. I don’t know much about Daniel Walker but it seems as if he’s absolutely smitten by King Charles after the briefest of interactions. Don’t think I’ve ever heard someone sound so infatuated with a celebrity. Crazy.

Fair play to Charles for knowing how to play the game I suppose. Hope he can keep it up now he’s King.
