I’m not sure if footballers have forgotten what it’s like to play in front of a whole bunch of fans calling you a wanker every other week, but it seems like this German guy doesn’t remember as he cut short his post match interview to literally jump into the crowd and attack one of them.

Defender Toni Leistner was already pretty upset following his team Hamburg’s 4-1 loss to Dynamo Dresden in the German cup, so it was the last straw when someone in the crowd insulted his partner and daughter during his post match interview. Leistner wasn’t having any of it though and calmly decided to climb into the crowd and attack the guy:

Wow. Love how Leistner literally looks like The Terminator climbing up there to confront the guy, like there’s literally no way that anything is going to get in his way whatsoever on this one. A man possessed.
Even though it’s kind of cool to see this happening, it probably isn’t really that great that he’s ending up doing this because he’s going to get a load of shit about it because professional athletes need to know better than to react like this, no matter what’s being said to them. Having said that though, Eric Dier did something similar last season and was given the captain’s armband in a recent England match, so who knows where this could lead Leistner on his career?
Leistner has issued a statement via his Instagram account where he’s apologised for his actions and saying that he’ll never react like that again, but I think that this incident will probably stay with him forever no matter what he does. At least it makes him look like a real badass, even if it might not be that great for his career.
