No doubt you’ve seen the ridiculous Wakey Wines viral TikTok trend over the past week or so, after the owner of the shop up in Wakefield gets all the idiots who have travelled miles to spend £100 on Prime Energy Drink from his shop to perform a little skit with him.

I’m not sure if the videos have gone viral because they’re actually kinda cute/funny or because everyone featuring in them is a class A idiot for travelling so far to spend so much money on a stupid energy drink, but obviously the owner is under a new level of scrutiny now and people have dug into his past and discovered that he used to be an actual class A drug dealer. Others are speculating that he’s using Wakey Wines as a front for money laundering, and that’s why he’s getting his customers to say that he’s charging them £100 for a can of Prime, which sounds pretty smart to be honest. Not sure if there’s anything in that though.
Anyway, here’s what we know so far and a deleted apology video from Azar when he explains he went to jail for four years for dealing drugs back in 2015, but since his release in 2019 he’s been on the straight and narrow:

A court heard Mohammed Nazir’s major ring-and-bring Class A drug supply network in Wakefield was discovered by undercover officers when they carried out an operation targeting dealers in the city.
Leeds Crown Court heard officers purchased drugs from Nazir on 11 occasions during a 96-day operation between last December and March this year.
Howard Shaw, prosecuting said Nazir was responsible for running an order line and directing other dealers but would also make deliveries himself.
Nazir was helped by Nathan Stokes, who would often make deliveries accompanied by his brother and mother.
Deals would take place outside Wakefield’s maximum security prison, the city’s magistrates court, railway station and in front of supermarkets.
The purity of the drugs supplied by the pair were close to double that of the average deal expected on the streets of West Yorkshire.
Mr Shaw said: “The drugs were so pure it must have come from either abroad directly or a wholesaler in this country. It is accepted that there is no direct evidence for that but the purity is quite remarkable.”
On one occasion Stokes boasted to undercover officers that he could make up to £1,000 a day selling drugs.
Nazir’s ‘customers’ also spoke of his reputation for supplying good quality drugs.
During the operation officers followed one man to flats in the Lupset area of the city and found around 100 wraps of cocaine and heroin in a lunch box at the rear of the property.
Digital scales and £3,000 in cash were found in the bathroom.
The court heard Nazir has two previous convictions for supplying drugs and received lengthy prison sentences.
In 2009 he was shot in the arm during a period of home leave from prison. He later told police he was too frightened to tell them who had done it.
Nazir, 34, of Hatfeild Street, Wakefield, was jailed for eight years after pleading guilty to two offences of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and three of possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply.
Mark Foley, for Nazir, said his client entered no basis for his plea of guilty and was too frightened to explain his level of involvement in the conspiracy.
Well it seems like this is a case of the guy doing the crime, then doing the time and subsequently turning his life around and that should actually be seen as a good thing in this scenario? He says he had a little help from his father although I’m not sure if I believe that – it seems pretty clear he bought Wakey Wines with drug money even if he’s not using it as a money laundering front, right?
Anyway, obviously his videos are really annoying and it’s ridiculous that he’s charging that much for Prime Energy drink, but not sure if we need to dredge up his past to try and ruin him because of it? Surely we should be celebrating the fact that this guy has turned his life around – albeit by exploiting social media addicts in a similar way to how he was exploiting drug addicts – and using him as an example to other people stuck in jail for crimes as what can be achieved when they get out?
Instead it seems like there’s a real vendetta against the guy with his TikTok account getting suspended over the weekend. Not sure if that was because of what he was charging for Prime or his criminal past, but I suppose if you’re gonna go viral for stuff like this then you are putting a target on your back. We all know the internet is an unforgiving place.
Don’t know who that influencer is – although KSI himself has called Wakey Wines out in the past for charging so much for the drink – but I’m not sure if Azar really deserves all this. Like he said, he’s just trying to make people laugh and build a social media presence/business for himself. Make up your own mind.
