Snake venom is no joke — we’ve already seen what happens to human blood when you add a few drops to it.

We’ve also seen what became of Bear Grylls’ producer’s foot after he was bitten by a snake while filming in the jungle (also NSFL).

But this photo of a 13-year-old snake bite victim’s leg really has to be the most graphic and gruesome of all.

The image was uploaded by Instagram user juventudmedica right before she was transferred to Caracus in Venezuela for treatment. Her leg will have to be amputated.

Paciente femenina de 13 años, un mes de evolución. Necrosis posterior a emponzoñamiento ofídico (mordedura de serpiente). Se le realizó una AP supracondilea. La paciente luego de presentar la mordedura, presenta daño vascular, sindrome compartimental que no se trata, por lo que evoluciona a una necrosis limitada a los compartimientos de la pierna. Por se una indígena utilizó tratamientos de su cultura, acudiendo a la ciudad un mes después del accidente con la serpiente. by @drmorenocastillo. #medicina #juventudmedica
