Apparently in Venezuela plastic surgery is pretty much becoming the norm. Mannequin manufacturer Eliezer Ãlvarez has introduced this line of shop-window dummies based on what he reckons Venezuelan women aspire to. It’s one of those chicken and egg situations. Women see big boobed women and want big boobs, so the blokes put more images of big boobed women about so smaller boobed women think they need the bigger boobs.
Venezuela is an oil-rich country allowing cosmetic surgery to become routine for wealthier Venezuelans and commonplace even among poorer women who spend cash they can’t really afford on breast implants, tummy tucks, nose jobs and buttock lifts.
There’s a lot of dark sides to these photos, but personally I’m enjoying them because of the juxtaposition I mentioned earlier. As a bloke I’m not sure what we can really do to help the situation. If you know any young girls, buy them a PJ Harvey album, that’s a start at least…
