This video is a real nice portrait of New York, that makes good use of those underneath-subway-bridge spaces in the centre of streets that have become an unusual (yet normalised) community spot. We don’t have those sort of spots in London where I live beyond a grassy roundabout, but be creative with it – find somewhere still surrounded by movement and gather a community to collect there whilst you bump this. My favourite roundabout by the infamous Chimes (now a gentrified gastropub I think) on Lower Clapton Road in Hackney got turned into a bus depot island thing – in a way, that maybe be the nearest to a transport created space in the centre of the road that I can get. I don’t really know where I’m going with this, but I watched the video and noticed the culture.
