A Bradford, West Yorkshire dad has left his wife of 10 years after falling in love with the Ukrainian refugee they had taken in.

Tony Garnett, 29, applied to be part of the Government’s refugee scheme but grew impatient at how long it was taking so joined Facebook groups where Ukrainians were looking for sponsors. It was there that he found 22-year-old Sofiia Karkadym invited her over.

Sofiia arrived in the UK on May 4 and went to live with Tony, his partner Lorna and their three and six-year-old daughters. Within 10 days of her arrival, Tony had ditched Lorna and his kids and the new couple moved in with Tony’s parents. Here they are now…

Lorna spoke to The Sun about how Sofiia ‘wore low-cut tops and lippy’ around the house to seduce her husband…

‘She set her sights on Anthony from the start, decided she wanted him and she took him.

She didn’t care about the devastation that was left behind. Everything I knew has been turned on its head in the space of two weeks.’

According to Lorna, Sofiia wore no make-up, did not do her hair and made no effort with her appearance during the day. But that changed after 5pm when Tony was due to come home. Sofiia would come downstairs in red lipstick, with her hair done and wearing a low-cut top.

‘At first I told myself I was imagining it or being irrationally jealous. But sadly I was right all along.’

Tony, who works in an NHS drop-in centre, said the pair ‘just clicked’ and got on really well, partly because he could speak Slovakian, which is similar to Ukrainian. The two would stay up late together watching TV, while Lorna went to bed.

Tony and Sofiia insist it was all ‘innocent’ at that time, but when a neighbour told Lorna she had seen the pair talking intimately outside the house, the mum-of-two switched and kicked Sofiia out. Amazingly, Tony told his wife: ‘if she’s going, I’m going’.

Best of luck to Lorna on her search for a decent, loyal partner. Might not seem it at the moment but she’s probably better off without the guy who has such a weak character that he leaves his wife and two kids for a fit Ukrainian refugee after just 10 days of her moving in. Sounds like he was really keen to take in a Ukrainian refugee from the beginning, so maybe this is some kind of fantasy he had for a while now? Can just imagine him joining those Facebook groups and ogling profiles until he found the perfect Ukrainian babe to take into his home.

Best way this could possibly end is for Sofiia to ditch Tony after she’s got her visa or whatever, and then Lorna and the girls kick him to the curb when he goes running back. I mean we all know that’s coming, right? Enjoy it while it lasts, Tony!
