We’ve all often wondered what those beautiful celebrities that we all love and talk about so much would look like if they weren’t beautiful celebrities and had to work shitty jobs in McDonald’s like the rest of us. Actually I guess most people don’t actually think that because they are too busy talking about/updating their twitter feed with the latest news about these dumbass celebrities and which one is boning the other or what have you. I don’t personally subscribe to that mentality, but Heat magazine sadly has a massive circulation so it’s clear that a bunch of people do.
Anyway, even if nobody is thinking that, it’s still kinda cool to see the work that hip fashion photographer Danny Evans has presented where he takes a bunch of famous celebrities who are universally regarded as good looking and cool and makes them fat and/or ugly, I guess through the wonders of Photoshop or some other equivalent computer program. Computer programs are pretty cool huh? Evans himself prefers not to talk about the process by which he developed these pictures, instead preferring to stay edgy and mysterious and offering the following statement that only computer geeks and photographers will probably understand: ‘I don’t like to discuss the technical side of my work, but I will say that they are photo composites, and not products of age altering software.’ Great, thanks for that insight guy. He also stated that the purpose of the exhibition was ‘to show celebrities in a different light. [It’s] my interpretation of how they might appear if they were never famous.’ You gotta love hearing about the creative process huh?
Anyway, take a look through this gallery and maybe you won’t feel so bad next time you decide to skip going to the gym and get a Domino’s pizza.
