Jacob Araptany was hopeful of claiming his country’s first Olympic medal of the Rio Games this week, but it wasn’t to be, as he lost his balance and painfully exited the race.
The 22-year-old was in third place in the 300m Steeplechase final when it all went brutally wrong:

It’s one thing to have that happen to you in front of your friends and family, quite another to have it happen at the Olympics in front of the whole world.
Of course by the time Araptany cleared the cobwebs and got back to his feet, he was too far behind the pack and dropped out of the race.
Unlucky mate. There’s always Tokyo 2020.
