Speaking to comedian Andrew Schulz on his podcast last week, Joe Rogan theorised that MMA legend Jon Jones would batter Tyson Fury in a fight. His exact words were:
“No one thinks that Tyson Fury can beat Jon Jones in a fight. No one thinks that. Tyson doesn’t think that.
You want to talk about who’s the baddest man on the planet? If Jon Jones and Tyson Fury are locked into a room, I’m pushing all of my chips on black.
Tyson Fury is an amazing boxer [but] he doesn’t have a f***ing chance in hell of making it out of that room. Zero chance, he would have to catch Jon immediately with one punch and I just don’t see that happening, man.
The threat of the takedown looms so large, that shot would come so unexpectedly and when he gets his hands around you, you’d be stunned.”
Seems like a sensible assumption, and he fully explained it as well. Unfortunately for Joe Rogan, Tyson Fury did not agree, and he was very upset about Joe Rogan doubting him in this hypothetical scenario:

Imagine being a bald man making fun of another bald man for being bald? Tyson Fury is basically insulting himself. If he’s really so mad about it though, why doesn’t he challenge Jon Jones to a fight? Seems pretty obvious that Fury would destroy him in a boxing match, whereas in an anything goes street fight (which is what Joe Rogan was talking about), Jones would probably have him on the floor in 5 seconds.
The guy was/is an absolute monster:
Anyway, would love to have seen Joe Rogan’s face when he watched Tyson Fury’s response to him. I’m sure the last thing he wanted to do was wind up the Gypsy King, but it’s too late now.
