Tyson Fury Admits He Hasn’t Said ‘One Word’ To Wife Paris Fury In Three Months

Tyson Fury seems extremely locked in for his heavyweight championship rematch with Oleksandr Usyk this Saturday night. How locked in exactly? Well, apparently he’s been training so hard that he hasn’t said a single word to wife-of-16-years Paris in three months.

Don’t take my word for it though, here it is straight from the horse’s mouth:

Wow, not even a video call or a WhatsApp or anything? I suppose even checking up on your wife and seven kids at home in Morecambe could be an unnecessary distraction when you’re training for the biggest fight of your life (and a seven figure pay day).

Usyk beat Fury by split decision back in May and as a result became the division’s first undisputed champion since Lennox Lewis in 2000. Clearly, Tyson Fury has been stewing over it ever since, and is determined to make it right this Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

On the loss, Fury told media this week:

“I don’t believe the showboating cost me the fight but I need to be more focused this time and not do as much.

“One of the commentators picked up on it and said, ‘has anybody ever seen Tyson Fury clown this much, even against lower level opposition?’.

“That’s how easy it was for me in there and you can get complacent because of that.”

Fury looked to be in control of the fight until Usyk landed a clean shot on his nose in the 8th round, and then dominated the 9th:

“I’m just going to use my boxing, like I did last time. I’m not going to do anything drastic, like a total change of game plan because it’s not needed.”

On not chatting to Paris for three months:

I’ve not spoken to Paris at all for three months, not one word. Yeah, I’ve sacrificed a lot. It will be worth it, 100 percent.”

Well, no matter how it pans out, I suppose it’s nice to have a break from your significant other every once in a while, especially when you’ve been married for 16 years. As they say – absence makes the heart grow fonder, although I’m not sure that involves completely ignoring the other person for 3 months.

As Tyson Fury says though, it will be totally worth it if he manages to get the W on Saturday. Even if he doesn’t, there’ll be several more millions in the bank to keep Paris and the rest of the family happy. Win-win!
