I really thought that a TV show about the enduring rivalry between the Karate Kid Daniel LaRusso and his nemesis from the first movie Johnny Lawrence would be one of the dumbest shows of all time and in all honesty I was completely right – but it was so dumb that I ended up absolutely loving it.

We’re now on Season Five of ‘Cobra Kai’ and more and more stupid characters, scenarios, relationships, karate tournaments and alliances keep happening and I’m not bored of it yet. The new season is going to be premiering on September 9th which is kinda crazy considering I think the last one only came out at the start of the year, but I guess when you’re that in demand anything is possible.

Anyway, in case you forgot, at the end of the last season Terry Silver’s Cobra Kai dojo had won the All Valley Tournament, forcing Daniel LaRusso’s Miyagi-Do and Johnny Lawrence’s Eagle Fang dojos to close down permanently. From the looks of the trailer below, it looks like things have only gotten worse for our heroes as Silver continues to expand the franchise over the San Bernardino valley.

What’s going to happen now for the two tough guys that never let a grudge go? And their stupid children?

I should have known the answer: more stupidity. I think it’s so funny how all these guys are so caught up in which way of practicing karate is correct and not evil or whatever, but it seems like everyone involved knows how goofy and silly the whole storyline is so it kinda still works. Looking forward to it.
