1. Hassane Alla for Brice Jovial (Le Havre V Reims August 24th 2010)
This is a seriously amazing backheeled volley that you definitely won’t have seen. Who’s Hassana Alla? Sign him up.

2. Gareth Bale for Roman Pavlyuchenko (Tottenham v Inter Milan, November 2, 2010)
I remember watching this at the time and I was more stoked about finding cool passes I hadn’t seen before in this list, and it’s arguable that Gareth Bale’s notoriety only really exists because of his performances in these two games, but there’s still no denying that this is an awesome run and pass. Pavlyuchenko looks pretty cool slamming it in too.

3.Mesut Ozil for Karim Benzema (Ajax v Real Madrid, November 23, 2010)
Everyone know’s Mesut Ozil is a complete sickhead from his performances in last year’s World Cup and this is a pretty good controlled mid air backheel, I think the finish from Benzema really makes it though. It’s not a good a backheel as Hassana Alla’s though.

4. Lionel Messi for David Villa. (Barcelona V Real Madrid, November 29, 2010)
It’s no surprise that Barcelona feature heavily in this list and this is a delicious, almost cross field through ball from Messi straight into the path of David Villa for the fourth goal in Barcelona’s demolition of Real Madrid. I couldn’t find a video of just the one goal so you’ll have to sit through all of them but all of the assists are pretty juicy.

5. Diego Milito for Javier Zanetti (Inter Milan V Seongnam, December 15th, 2010)
This isn’t a mid air backheel but it’s a pretty snappy/cool backheel that sets up Zanetti perfectly. It reminds me of the sort of stuff Geoff Horsfield used to pull out of the bag back in the day.
