1) Indian Man Grows Tail. Gets Worshiped
35-year-old Chandre Oraon from West Bengal has grown a massive tail and is being heralded as a reincarnation of the monkey god Hanuman. If you ask me he probably just shaved the spot repeatedly until it grew so he could get some attention.
If the tail isn’t evidence enough of his past life, he’s also wicked at climbing trees apparently.
Added to his climbing skills he has the power to heal of course:
“My brother’s son was once very unwell and had fever. We gave him medicine but it did not work. So we came to Chandre to seek his blessings. The baby recovered soon after that. We believe that Chandre is an incarnation of Hanuman. They say he was born on the Holy Hanuman day. So we have faith in him”.
Doctors, on the other hand call it a congenital defect and have offered to lop it off for him. He politely declined. The tail hasn’t helped him with the ladies though, he’s suffered many knock backs over the years. So it’s not all good being a reincarnated god after all. Here’s a quote from Maino, his wife:
“Despite his fame, things between us haven’t been working out well. I don’t like Chandre. I don’t like living with him. He doesn’t look good. My mother and my father passed away when I was young. So my brothers wanted to me to get married. So I had to compromise.”
Poor Chandre.
