2) North Korean Zoo Shows Off Yorkshire Terriers
The newest editions to North Korea’s Central Zoo are a couple of Yorkshire terriers. Not the most exciting things to put in a zoo really, but I guess if you’ve never seen one it might be interesting to you. A work colleague of mine explained that the North Koreans had eaten all the dogs in the country which is why this counts as an attraction. I wouldn’t make such a crass joke.
Here’s what the official North Korean news agency has to say about it:
“The Central Zoo plays a big role in improving the cultural and emotional life of people and giving them comprehensive knowledge of animals. Recently, more than 50 pet dogs of 21 species and over 400 parrots and guinea pigs of 30 species were sent to the zoo. Among those pet dogs are Dalmatians, Irish setters, bearded collies and schnauzer”.
Awesome. All in all it looks like a pretty crap zoo to be in if you’re an animal…
#1 on next page is disturbing, so make sure your you’re ready for it psychologically…
