2) Dog’s Life
This week an American dog called IV (pronounced Ivy) got a shot at fame thanks to a computer bloop. This German shepherd got called in for jury service at Cumberland County court in New Jersey. Brilliant.
When the letter came through Mr Griner’s door he was all like OMG, LOL etc: “I’m wondering like, What is this? Something from the county office about her vaccinations or something? Like, why is my dog getting mail?”
Although this is an enchantingly cutesy tale, I wonder how many other legal systems and decisions are controlled by that same machine? Computer errors are all hilarious until someone gets electrocuted to death…
