9. Bruza

Bruza was part of a new-wave of MCs who were pushing for the UK rap scene to gain global recognition in the 00’s. Featuring on ‘Sway’s’ piece ‘London’ – a reply to Fat Joe’s ‘New York’ – was one of his most notable works, but I feel he will always be remembered for ‘Get Me’, which was massive at its time of release and represented a new chapter for grime. With his instantly identifiable flow on a distinctly broken beat, a new dimension was added to ‘recognised’ grime at the time.
