The maddest thing about the Tinder Swindler documentary on Netlix is that conman Simon Leviev AKA Shimon Heyada Hayut continues to live the dream in Israel with model girlfriend Kate Konlin, while facing zero legal ramifications for his actions. This is a guy who deceived and manipulated his way to over $10 million (£7.4 million) by tricking women on Tinder into believing he was a high profile diamond dealer in Europe. In reality he was just a sociopathic conman who lived a life of lavishness at the expense of these poor women.
Somehow, his girlfriend isn’t too fussed. Maybe she believes Leviev’s claim that he was just “acting” for the Netflix documentary? What’s absolutely wild is that he’s free as a bird while the women he scammed out of millions are stuck trying to figure out how to repay their creditors. All he got was 5 months in prison (released early because of the pandemic) and that was over something completely unrelated! Surely there’s no way he can get away with how he swindled these women, especially given his history of theft, forgery and fraud?
Anyway, Tinder immediately banned Leviev from their app upon the release of Netflix’s documentary. It’s not like he’s a master fraudster who could find a way around that ban in 2 seconds if he wanted to, so fair play to them. Meanwhile, girlfriend Kate Konlin isn’t bothered…
Konlin disabled her Instagram recently which I’m sure has to do with the volume of abuse and judgment she’s receiving from strangers around the world. Meanwhile, Simon’s Instagram was disabled for a while, but it’s now back up and running (could easily change by the time you read this)…
Now obviously this guy is an evil, diabolical, shameless piece of work, but at the same time – and not to victim blame or anything – it’s pretty amazing how easily these girls fell for his tricks. Watch the documentary and see for yourself. Giving passport info out on a first date? Allowing him to use your credit card to party like a rock star? Come on!
Anyway, apparently his victims are lawyering up and say they will fight Leviev ‘to the bitter end’ in order to get their money back. They’ve also launched a GoFundMe called ‘Help the Victims of the Tinder Swindler’ in case you’re feeling generous. Best of luck, ladies!
