This Man Tried Using An AI Generated Lawyer In Court And It Didn’t Exactly Go To Plan

I’m pretty sure everyone is entitled to legal representation in court and if you can’t afford one the court just appoints you one for free, but in this day and age, why not just use your own AI-generated lawyer and try to pass them off as the real deal?

74-year-old New Yorker Jerome Dewald took a stab at it during a hearing for an employment dispute, but it all went pear-shaped when the judges quickly realised that something was amiss:

Incredible. It’s too bad the judge didn’t see the funny side because that is objectively hilarious. Who knew a 74-year-old man could be so tech savvy? This old geezer somehow figured out how to generate an AI lawyer that can say things like “I stand here today before a panel of five distinguished judges”, and the judge is getting p1ssy with him over it?

After all, the man is allowed to represent himself in court. That’s essentially what he’s doing, except he’s got a computer-generated lawyer saying his words for him. I don’t see the problem! Although it sounds like their real issue was that he didn’t tell them his lawyer was AI, otherwise who knows? They might have been OK with it. Impressed, even.

Well anyway, I’m not sure what became of Jerome Dewald and his employment dispute, but I really hope it went well for him. Go Jerry Go!
