If you thought that Ronda Rousey was going to get knocked out last weekend, you’re either a liar, or Dave Oancea.

Dave bet $20,000 on Holly Holm to win, at 11/1, the nutcase.

Ronda Rousey was undefeated in the UFC, with her record now standing at 12-1 (6-1 in UFC), so understandably she was the favourite going in to the fight. Especially when you look at the manor she’s won her fights, with all bar one fight being finished in the first round.

But last night she got knocked the fuck out by Holly Helm.

It wasn’t a fluke, either. Helm dominated the fight, frustrating Rousey by going against her game plan, and unfortunately for Rowdy Rousey, she had no plan B, and just couldn’t get the fight to go the way she wanted it to.

Very few people saw it coming, but Dave Oancea did, and his big bet landed him a cool $240,000. The $20k stake was just a drop in the ocean for Dave, though. A few weeks ago he won over $2.5 million in a series of bets backing the Kansas City Royals to win the World Series.

We’ve all got a mate that fancies himself as a top tipster, giving us absolute dead certs to bet our house on, but when we do back it, turns out to be a Blackpool donkey that stops for a shit halfway round the track. But if you happen to know ‘Vegas Dave’, you’d do very, VERY well to copy his betting slip.

It was a big bet that paid off, but it wasn’t as ridiculous as some of these ones.
