Themba Gorimbo is a UFC fighter from Zimbabwe with an unbelievably inspiring story. He came to America a few years ago with just the clothes on his back and has been sleeping on a couch in the gym ever since. After winning his last fight, he sold his Fight Kit online and put all his money towards buying a new watering hole for his village in Zimbabwe. What a guy!
When The Rock heard his story, he decided to help him out in a big way:
Awesome. Now Gorimbo can move his family out to Miami and sleep on an actual bed in a house rather than a couch in the gym. From the sounds of it – it’s all paid off and he doesn’t even to have to worry about the bills. All The Rock wants is for Gorimbo to keep training hard and become a UFC champion. How f***ing cool will that be when/if it happens?
P.S. Not a great look for Dana White that a fighter on his roster has to be treated like a charity case by The Rock, but you can’t help but feel super happy for the dude either way. Hearing that he’s headed straight back to Zimbabwe to build another watering hole for his village is pretty special too.
P.P.S. The Rock is being paid more money for a single film than any actor in history for his next project. No wonder he can afford to buy Gorimbo a house!
