It was only a couple of hours ago that the news that Keith Flint of The Prodigy had died filtered through and everyone immediately began speculating as to the cause of death.

Thankfully this hasn’t lasted too long and The Prodigy themselves have come out to explain what actually happened and again it’s more sad news as it actually turned out that Keith decided to commit suicide over the weekend. Here’s the official Instagram post, but they’ve also released a statement to Sky News as well saying the following:

It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint.

A true pioneer, innovator and legend.

He will be forever missed.

We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time.

Damn. Really didn’t’ expect to be hearing about that on this Monday but there you go. RIP to Keith and sending all my love to his family and friends in this difficult time.
