It looks as though we’ve found the most dangerous zebra crossing in the UK: this absolute danger zone on Horton Grange Road in Bradford, where witnesses say that there are collisions and near-misses every day. Local resident Tahir Zeb installed CCTV cameras to film the carnage after fearing Bradford Council was not going to act, and here’s the “highlight” reel he came out with:

Well, finally, Bradford Council are ready to do something about it after “awaiting funding” for the longest time, and will be installing traffic lights at the site. Mr Zeb is over the moon, as he told the BBC this week:
“I’m very happy they’ve taken this really seriously and they’re now going to do something about it. We’ve been campaigning for 10 years for this. Now the council has taken all of this CCTV footage I’ve given them on board. It means safety for the kids. They’ll now wait for a signal to let them know it’s safe to cross.”
Great job by Tahir and everyone else who put the work in to make this happen, potentially saving lives in the future. I’m not sure where all those drivers in the clip got their licenses from but when you’re dealing with these kinds of lunatics, you’ve got to take extra precautions. In fact, I’d say even with the traffic lights, you better look both ways to ensure traffic has stopped before crossing the street on Horton Grange Road. Stay safe!
