A new film starring Peter Andre as a fake Jamaican gangster trying to secure £35,000 for his nan’s nursing home bills is set for release this year, and no one is quite sure what to make of it.
At first I thought it might have been a latent April Fools joke, but apparently it’s 100% legit. Here’s the trailer:
Huh?! That cannot be real. And yet, it is. I’m actually surprised someone as PG as Peter Andre is putting themselves in the firing line of the perpetually outraged types by playing a fake Jamaican for his big screen debut. I mean, he did stop short of going full blackface, so fair play to him for that. As a Greek-Cypriot from Australia who made Mysterious Girl, maybe he’s exotic enough to pull it off without being cancelled?

Who knows? It might actually turn óut to be a pretty funny little movie. Maybe we’ll even get a Mysterious Girl remix out of it? Here’s hoping.
