If you’ve seen ‘The Room’ then you already know, but if you haven’t then there’s no other way to describe it really than as the best awful movie of all time. There’s literally so much about it that makes no sense – the production cost was high, and yet the film was so poorly made and badly acted. In fact, the movie was so bad that it’s become a cult classic – the fact that thousands of people all over the world still flock to midnight screenings of it every year should tell you just how loved this movie is amongst one subsection of society.

‘The Room’ was the brainchild of Tommy Wisseau and one of the other actors in the movie Greg Sesteros wrote a book about working with the auteur a few years back, which has now been turned into a major motion picture from the team of James Franco and Seth Rogen. You might think that a movie about the worst movie ever made might be completely terrible, but it looks as if it’s going to be equal parts hilarious and touching and is actually being tipped as an early contender for next year’s Oscars.

Take a look at the teaser trailer below:

OK so maybe we’re missing the touching part out of that, but this scene is actually based on one of Wisseau’s infamous episodes during the movie where he couldn’t remember any of the lines that he himself had written, leading to cuts like the one above having to be used as they were the only ones that he could get right. I can see this being an absolute classic just from that scene.
