Next up we have some more at-risk survivors all the way from Siberia. A bunch of soldiers were mucking about in the dump at their base. I’m guessing entertainment is limited on Siberian military base. They came across a container of white powder, and decided they would rub it on their feet, roll it into their cigarettes and snort it.
In a short amount of time they all started getting ill and their hair started to fall out. It turns out the substance was thallium. If you don’t know already, suffice it to say you don’t want to ingest thallium. It was once used as rat poison, but was found to be so toxic that it is banned in the United States and several other countries.
Nobody died but several of the servicemen were airlifted to hospital to recover. If I need to give you the moral of that story, you may be in line for an award yourself. Snorting sherbet is one thing…
