Yesterday was day 11 of the Johnny Depp V Amber Heard trial and for some reason, texts between Amber Heard and her former agent Christian Carino detailing her relationship with Elon Musk were read out through the form of a pre-recorded disposition.

For those of you that don’t know, after Depp and Heard split up and Elon finalised his divorce from his first wife Talulah Riley in 2016, the pair started dating. They had previously met on the set of 2013 Danny Trejo movie ‘Machete’, but their relationship didn’t last long, ending in the early weeks of 2018.
However, the texts between Carino and Amber suggest that she was never really in love with the richest man in the world and was just ‘filling space’ whilst she mourned the death of her relationship with Depp. Here’s what the key ones said:

In August 2017, when the pair temporarily split up:
Amber: ‘Dealing with breakup. I hate when things go public. C, I’m so sad.’
Christian: ‘You weren’t in love with him, and you told me a thousand times you were just filling space.
I’m saying, why would you be sad if you weren’t in love with him, to begin with?’
Amber: ‘I know, but I wanted time to grieve and recover in my own time.
Yet again another man lets me fall on the spikes by myself.
They get mad for leaving me and put things like this out there.’
Christian: ‘If you don’t like your personal life being in the press, don’t date famous men
You can avoid this by not dating uber-famous people.’
Hmm. I guess that Depp wanted to put that in his evidence as it shows that Heard is obsessed with her own fame and notoriety that she keeps dating famous men even though she doesn’t really like them? Or maybe that she blames her ex boyfriends/husbands for her breakups and doesn’t take any responsibility for them? Not really sure to be honest.
One of the other key texts between the two that was revealed was Heard texting Carino whilst she was going out with Musk saying ‘God I miss him’ in reference to Depp. I suppose he’s arguing there that someone who was domestically abused wouldn’t say something like that, but there’s also a mentality that people who are in abusive relationships don’t realise it until much later on, so maybe that makes sense as well?

There’s also the rumour that Heard started dating Elon Musk whilst she was still married to Depp, which probably isn’t going to make her look too good in this situation once again. Not sure if this text exchange really helps Depp that much with that angle, but I suppose it again makes Heard look even less likeable if she was having an affair with Musk and didn’t even fancy him.
Whatever the reason for Depp including these texts in his evidence, they’re once again not really portraying Amber Heard in the best light for stringing Elon Musk along whilst she was dating him. Trial really hasn’t gone too well for her so far, but then again she still has all her evidence to present so maybe she’ll turn it around?
In any case, even if she was a complete prick during their relationship that doesn’t necessarily mean that Depp wasn’t abusive as well, which I think is what the trial is all about? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
