I think everyone knows that Sylvester Stallone was down on his luck before he managed to write and star in ‘Rocky’, but I don’t really think any of us knew the extent of this after details recently re-emerged of him once being forced to star in a porn film and being paid just £180 for his time.

Stallone was only 24 years old and living in a bus shelter when he starred in low budget porn movie ‘The Party at Kitty and Stud’s ‘ as the titular character opposite Kitty, played by Henrietta Holm. The plot of the movie sounds about as pornographic as you can get, with the synopsis reading as follows:
They enjoy a robust sex-life, which includes fellatio and light S&M, specifically, Stud belt-whipping Kitty.
Three women come over for a party and Stud services them, one after the other.
Lol. That really doesn’t sound like it has much of a storyline does it? I guess porn has come a long way since then, although if you try and find a copy of ‘The Party at Kitty and Stud’s ‘ it will no longer be as pornographic as it was back in the 70s, probably due to Stallone becoming one of the biggest actors in the world. Disappointing as I imagine all of us were looking to track it down and check it out this weekend.
Starring in a porno might not have been Stallone’s proudest moment, but he also revealed he’s not ashamed of it as it allowed him to get out of the bust shelter and start making his way to the top. Here’s what he had to say about it in an interview with Playboy in 1978:
It was either do that movie or rob someone because I was at the end – at the very end – of my rope.
Instead of doing something desperate, I worked two days for $200 (£180) and got myself out of the bus station.
I suppose you’ve gotta respect that really haven’t you? So Stallone did porn and barely got paid for it – at least he used the money to get himself out of a shxtty situation and elevate himself to the pinnacle of his industry rather than just wasting it all on drinks and women or whatever and ending up truly depressed like you hear a lot of porn stars turn out. A true inspiration.
