It really does seem like literally anything involving comic books or superheroes was commissioned by the executives at Netflix or Amazon Prime a couple of years ago as we’re now seeing a plethora of comic book TV series explode onto our screens, but I’m happy to see that this latest Netflix adaptation actually looks like it’s going to be really good.

The show is called ‘Sweet Tooth’ and is basically your typical post apocalyptic story about how the world changes once a deadly virus wipes out the majority of the population. The twist though is that there are a bunch of children that are born as hybrids with weird deformities like antlers in their head and they may/may not have something to do with this killer virus.
Anyway, here’s the trailer and the official synopsis:
Based on the beloved DC Comic, and Executive Produced by Susan Downey & Robert Downey Jr., Sweet Tooth is a post-apocalyptic fairytale about a hybrid deer-boy and a wandering loner who embark on an extraordinary adventure. All episodes of Sweet Tooth premiere on June 4, 2021, only on Netflix.
Yeah, that doesn’t really tell us so much about what it’s about does it, but it makes it look absolutely epic and definitely makes me want to tune in. I read the comic book a long time ago and don’t really remember what happened in it except for a few key plot points, but I do know that I really enjoyed it at the time so I’m hopeful that Robert Downey Jr and Susan Downey will have done a good job of brining this to the small screen. Can’t wait.
For more of the same, check out the trailer to ‘Jupiter’s Legacy’, another massive comic book adaptation out on Netflix next week.
