Suspiria is well regarded in horror movie circles as one of the most influential movies of the 70s and it actually holds up fairly well now and is still pretty creepy and scary.

However, like with all the great old movies out there, everyone coming up now thinks that they can do a better version of it now and reboot it and this is exactly what has happened with Suspiria. This actually looks like it might do justice to the original for once though.
The trailer below just dropped and it’s profound jarring and creepy. You don’t really get any plot or clue what’s going on but there’s enough dread and sinister stuff going on that you get the picture that this is probably going to be the most uncomfortable and fearful movie of the year by far. Take a deep dive into this:
Told you that was pretty unsettling didn’t I? in case you were wondering, Luca Guadagnino is at the helm and after ‘Call Me By My Name’ and this trailer, I’m fairly confident he’ll be able to re-imagine Suspiria for 2018. He’s also managed to assemble a pretty stellar cast including Tilda Swinton, Dakota Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz, Mia Goth and Jessica Harper – yeah, the Jessica Harper from the original who is apparently playing some kind of lesser supporting role – and all of the signs coupled with that trailer mean that expectations are actually pretty high.
Let’s hope they’re smashed out of the park come the release date of November 2nd. Please be good, let’s just put it that way.
