You pretty much can’t even walk down the street at the moment and not hear something about HBO/Sky Atlantic’s masterful TV series Chernobyl, so it makes sense that someone out there decided to make a survival horror video game set in the fallout zone of the disaster.

And the good news is that we’re not going to have to wait years for it, but that it’s coming out in the next couple of months. The Farm 51 really planned that one well hey!
The game is called Chernobylite and it will be released on Steam later this year. It revolves around a nuclear physicist who must roam the exclusion zone in search of his missing girlfriend, fighting off both natural and supernatural threats as you do so.
Check out the trailer below and the synopsis of the game underneath that:
Craft your gear and weapons to protect yourself from the supernatural threats lurking in the zone. Decide what happens in the world around you. Ally or compete with other stalkers of the Chernobyl zone to survive. Each day brings new challenges.
Plan your strategy carefully if you want to survive. Maintain your resolve and keep your wits about you – the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant is not what it once was. No one can foresee the horrors that may have befallen your beloved.
I mean that looked OK but also kinda confusing? I enjoy the whole walking around a nuclear fallout zone and shooting weird zombies aspect, but I just didn’t really get what the voiceover was saying or what was going on with a lot of it?
Still, the idea to completely cash in on the craze and start working on this game probably years before the TV show was released has to be respected and I’ll probably check it out just because of that. Provided they get it out quick enough that is.
For more of the same, check out how much it costs to actually visit Chernobyl in real life. Probably just gonna play the video game tbh.
