I’m sure at this point that everyone is looking forward to the Easter weekend and the four days off that we’re all going to enjoy – especially now that the weather is looking a bit better – but I’m not sure if anyone out there was asking for a Creme Egg Subway to enjoy the occasion.

Nevertheless, that is what we’re getting courtesy of the sandwich shop’s wacky marketing team, although the special Subway melt will actually only be available in four stores all over the country: Tottenham Court Road, central London, Central Shopping Centre, Liverpool, Llansamlet Service Station, Swansea and Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow. Not really sure why anyone would want one of them as they don’t look nice at all, but if you do want to pick one then you had better make sure you get down there quick as only 500 of the sandwiches are going to be made nationwide, presumably 125 at each location. Also are there no Subways in Wales so they had to pick one at a service station or something?
Rusty Warren, Senior New Product Development and Product Innovation Manager at Subway, said the following about the stunt:
We’re delighted to have collaborated with Cadbury this Easter.
Our Italian White Bread and Cadbury Creme Eggs make the most flavoursome combination, a perfect seasonal treat. All the team at Subway are especially excited to see how those Subway fans with a sweet tooth respond to this delicious SubMelt.
Yeah I dunno it just looks a bit rank to me to have loads of melted chocolate dripping out of a white sub, presumably with no other ingredients as well. I suppose it’s a bit better if the sub is toasted, but even so I think it’s gonna be a peculiar combination. Hope everyone who gets to try it enjoys it though. Eat fresh.
For more of the same, check out this guy who only eats Easter eggs and has already scoffed 100 this year. Bet he would be first in the queue for one of these subs. If only he could eat bread!
